As consciousness slowly fades
Reality swirling
Thoughts unfurling
I see her face
I wrap her in my arms
Smell butterfly flowers
In candlelit hours
And feel her near
In comfortable peace I sigh
It is idyllic
Yet surrealistic
So out of place
Persistently truth sinks in
The mass of illusion
A long for institution
She is not there
Shaking off the fog of sleep
Still disbelieving
Of subconscious feelings
Played out in my dreams.

Dream Come True
One day I was walking
and had a little thought
of someone I thought I knew
She had a wonderful laugh
a charming smile
and her eyes the softest of blue
She was someone who
looked very familar
as if known my whole life through
And then one day
our paths they crossed
and I realized that someone was you.

untitled 3
It's an inexplicable struggle
to ignore your heart
and follow your mind
Never more difficult to move forward
when the only thing left
is to say goodbye
to ignore your heart
and follow your mind
Never more difficult to move forward
when the only thing left
is to say goodbye

empty
if love is a fire of burning desire
my heart is a cinder and towering spire
of billowing smoke reduced to ash
swept off the floor and dumped in the trash.
if love is the thing that makes life complete
this feeling of loss has begun to deplete
my hope and spirits and my belief
someone exists to my love receive.

belonging
There are fewer joyful things
and how to me it seems to sing
when she calls out my name

imagine
My palm against your neck
Gazing on your face
Naively anticipating
Our lips passionite embrace.
Stretching ever slowly
Wiping sleep from my eyes
My heart struggles to process
Why my mind tells these lies
Through my waking day
Thoughts begin and end with you
So I focus on distractions
What else can I do
each night I lay head to pillow
Close my eyes and I resign
To that place 'tween here and slumber
Where I'm yours and you are mine.
Goodbye ...
Gazing on your face
Naively anticipating
Our lips passionite embrace.
Stretching ever slowly
Wiping sleep from my eyes
My heart struggles to process
Why my mind tells these lies
Through my waking day
Thoughts begin and end with you
So I focus on distractions
What else can I do

Close my eyes and I resign
To that place 'tween here and slumber
Where I'm yours and you are mine.
Goodbye ...
